Bring-your-own OR converged infrastructure? More and more IT organizations are choosing the converged infrastructure path in order to free up time for application automation, self-service and business integration. In the course of this year, VCE introduced groundbreaking advancements to its converged solutions portfolio. So let’s have a closer look at an evolutionary approach for a sustainable architecture that gives you the flexibility to start small but also delivers answers when things are growing.
You can start with just one VCE system, i. e. a Vblock or a VxBlock (introducing VMware NSX) or a VxRack (hyperconverged with ScaleIO, VMware vSAN persona coming soon). Using VCE Technology Extensions you can quickly increase processing power, add storage capacity, provide a module for data protection or compute nodes e. g. for an SAP HANA TDI implementation. The extensions are also pre-tested and pre-validated hardware that can be managed, supported and sustained as part of the system.
At a large scale, VCE Fabric connects multiple systems and modular components to create a shared pool of resources. For converged management, VCE Vision Intelligent Operations software extends visibility to the entire data center and all of its components.
This modular architecture enables a unified datacenter that simplifies ongoing operations and provides a solid foundation for hybrid cloud.
