For those of you planning to come to EMC World, my colleague Jim Whalen has put together a great overview of SAP-related topics. In case you cannot attend in person you have the option to join the conference virtually – here’s the link.
And don’t miss to plan enough time for the Hands-on Labs. You will get direct access to the products and solutions and can explore them on your own. For example we have prepared a SAP Netweaver Landscape Virtualization Management lab for you, where you have an SAP ECC system, an SAP CRM, an SAP LVM and several spare hosts. SAP LVM automates and simplifies the management of SAP applications and landscapes in virtualized data centers and cloud-enabled infrastructures for SAP admins through a single user interface. EMC Storage Integration (ESI) for SAP LVM leverages EMC array-based replication technologies for SAP System Provisioning activities like clone, copy and refresh as well as supporting features like mass start/stop/relocation activities. This Lab demonstrates EMC integration with SAP LVM and the functionality most related to those integration points including the ESI web service EMC HLS Administration Console (EHAC) for storage admins to manage SAP LVM users and control read/write access to the storage pools for storage systems. Further you can explore how integrated cloud management and performance analysis enables SAP and infrastructure administrators to gain full transparency about what is happening at all layers.
And last but not least there will be some great announcements I cannot talk about today, but next week for sure… 😉
